IceCap 27W High Output External Inline UV Sterilizer (SKU: IC-HOUV-27W)
The IceCap 27W High Output External Inline UV Sterilizer (SKU: IC-HOUV-27W) is an authentic, commercial-grade water management system distributed by CoralVue to promote uncompromised biosecurity and crystal-clear water profiles. Unlike typical low-wattage consumer clarifiers that merely mask green water, the IceCap High Output system leverages a high-density mercury-vapor arc tube to flood the internal contact channel with an aggressive UVC energy payload (75 μW/cm2). As water-borne dinoflagellates, cloudy bacterial blooms, and free-swimming Cryptocaryon irritans(marine ich) tomonts pass tightly against the internal quartz sleeve matrix, the exposure instantly neutralizes their ability to reproduce, breaking infection tracking cycles in closed aquatic loops.
Plumbed directly out-of-sump, the IC-HOUV-27W handles heavy flow rates up to 1,500 GPH for freshwater clarifiers and 600 GPH for critical marine parasite mitigation loops. The opaque, UV-shielded resin body protects your vision and surrounding equipment from radiation degradation while improving your system's overall Oxidation-Reduction Potential (Redox). Whether attached to a dedicated canister loop, bypass manifold, or main return run, this high-performance sterilizer ensures a clean, stable, and disease-resistant habitat without shifting structural pH lines or introducing chemical residues.

IceCap Catalytic Carbon Single Canister Kit
The IceCap Catalytic Carbon Single Canister Kit (SKU: IC-RO-CCAN) is an authentic, system-expanding water purification module distributed by CoralVue to insulate sensitive aquatic systems from city tap water oxidants. Many municipal water networks have converted from using standard chlorine to far more stable monochloramines (NH2Cl) because they persist inside long city water loops. Unfortunately, this chemical stability makes chloramines a severe threat to aquarists. Standard carbon block filters lack the contact time and electron surface speed to shatter the ammonia-chlorine bond. As a result, raw chloramines bypass standard pre-filters entirely, melting thin-film composite (TFC) reverse osmosis membranes and instantly exhausting expensive color-changing deionization (DI) resins. The IC-RO-CCAN completely eliminates this processing vulnerability.
This modular kit provides everything needed to upgrade a basic 3-stage or 4-stage system into a high-performance chloramine-busting powerhouse. The center of the kit features a rigid, clear 10-inch canister that mounts directly alongside your existing RO framework. Inside, a refillable transparent cartridge holds 1 pound of advanced catalytic carbon. This specialized media undergoes unique thermal modification to supercharge its active reaction sites, accelerating the destruction of toxic chloramines on contact. Complete with 1/4" quick-connect elbow fittings and an ergonomic structural wrench, this module delivers professional-grade municipal filtration protection in a space-saving design.
Key Features
Turnkey System Expansion: Completely removes the guesswork of hunting down individual fittings, brackets, or loose media bags to upgrade your system configuration.
Visual Media Monitoring: Clear structural housing lets you track exactly when the packed carbon matrix accumulates heavy surface mulm or sediment loading without disassembling the canister.
Standard 10-Inch Sizing: Refillable internal shell features standard dimensions, allowing effortless refills utilizing bulk IceCap loose catalytic carbon jars

5 Micron CTO Carbon Block Pre-filter for Reverse Osmosis Systems
The IceCap 5 Micron CTO Carbon Block is a standard second-stage pre-filter cartridge for reverse osmosis and RO/DI systems on chlorinated municipal water. It is positioned after the sediment stage and before the RO membrane, where it removes residual chlorine and organics that a sediment filter alone cannot intercept. Left untreated, chlorine in feed water will degrade and eventually destroy a thin-film composite (TFC) membrane, making a functional carbon block pre-filter a non-optional part of any RO system on city water.
The 10in industry-standard form factor fits the IceCap Smart RODI system as well as virtually every other brand's standard filter housing. This is a CTO (Chlorine, Taste, Odor) carbon block, which treats for chlorinated municipal water. If your water utility uses chloramine rather than chlorine, this cartridge will not provide adequate protection — see the IceCap Chloramine Reducing Carbon Block instead.
Key Features:
Removes chlorine and organics at the second stage of a standard RO pre-filter sequence
5 micron rating blocks fine particulates that pass through a coarser sediment stage
Fits any standard 10in filter housing, including the IceCap Smart RODI system
CTO formulation treats chlorinated municipal water; not rated for chloramine removal
For use with microbiologically safe and adequately disinfected water only
Flush for a minimum of 10-15 minutes before directing output to the RO membrane
Ideal For:
Hobbyists on chlorinated municipal water replacing an expired carbon block in an IceCap or compatible RO system
Reef and freshwater aquarium keepers maintaining the pre-filter stage of a multi-stage RO or RO/DI system
Anyone building a new RO system using standard 10in housings who needs a reliable, straightforward carbon block
Pro Tips:
Confirm your water utility uses chlorine, not chloramine, before buying this cartridge. CTO carbon blocks treat for chlorine. If your municipality has switched to chloramine, this filter will not adequately protect your membrane. Request a water quality report from your utility to confirm.
Always flush for at least 10-15 minutes before use. Carbon fines are released during the first flush. Do not run the output to your RO membrane or aquarium until the initial flush is complete.
Replace on schedule, not on taste or smell. Chlorine removal capacity declines gradually before it becomes detectable. Replace this cartridge at your system's recommended service interval to prevent membrane damage.
Change the sediment and carbon block together. If the sediment pre-filter is clogged or exhausted, it can push particulates toward the carbon block, reducing the carbon block's effective service life. Replacing both at the same time during routine maintenance is the cleaner practice.
IceCap 40W High Output External Inline UV Sterilizer (SKU: IC-HOUV-40W)
The IceCap 40W High Output External Inline UV Sterilizer (SKU: IC-HOUV-40W) is an authentic, commercial-grade water management system distributed by CoralVue to promote uncompromised biosecurity and crystal-clear water profiles. IceCap 10" Chloramine Reducing Carbon Block Pre-Filter (SKU: IP-RI-CT100C)
The IceCap Chloramine Reducing Carbon Block Filter (SKU: IP-RI-CT100C) is an authentic, medical-grade water purification cartridge distributed by CoralVue to provide specialized chemical extraction for modern reef aquariums and high-tech freshwater displays. Across many municipal networks, water treatment facilities have converted from using traditional free chlorine to a more stable disinfectant called chloramine (a chemical bond of chlorine and ammonia). Standard carbon blocks are inefficient at tackling this tough compound; they deplete rapidly and allow ammonia to bypass your pre-filtration stages, destroying thin-film composite (TFC) membranes. The IceCap Chloramine Buster cartridge addresses this challenge by utilizing advanced catalytic carbon processing to target and break these persistent bonds.
The structural matrix of the IP-RI-CT100C utilizes an extruded carbon core crafted with advanced pore spacing to maximize active chemical binding sites. When tap water travels through the high-density carbon wall, the catalytic surfaces split the chloramine molecules apart, absorbing the harsh chlorine component while preventing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), bad odors, and chemical residues from traveling deeper into your filtration sequence. Rated for a comprehensive 2,500-gallon service lifecycle under a maximum holding pressure threshold of 125 PSI, this universal drop-in replacement ensures your system outputs the absolute purest water base possible for sensitive corals and invertebrates.
Key Features
Prevents Ammonia Breakthrough: Advanced catalytic absorption strips the ammonia component out of tap water, shielding your deionization (DI) resin from premature depletion.
Universal Drop-In Design: Fits seamlessly into standard 10-inch canisters, allowing you to quickly upgrade any basic 4-stage or 5-stage RO filter setup.
Maintains High Operational Flow Rates: Engineered to process water smoothly up to 0.75 GPM, giving you plenty of pure water production without dragging down line pressures.

Dow Filmtec 100 GPD Thin Film Composite RO Membrane for Aquarium Use
The Dow Filmtec TW30-1812-100HR is a 100-gallon-per-day thin-film composite (TFC) reverse osmosis membrane for hobbyists replacing a worn membrane in an existing RO or RO/DI system. It fits any standard pressure vessel sized for a 1.75in x 11.74in element, including IceCap RO systems and virtually every other brand using the common 2in x 12in housing format.
The membrane is rated at 96-98% TDS rejection and is tested and listed to NSF/ANSI Standard 58 for drinking water systems. It is rated at 50 PSI operating pressure, which means it produces approximately 20% more purified water per PSI than competing membranes rated at 60 PSI — a meaningful efficiency advantage for hobbyists managing waste water ratios.
Chlorine will destroy a TFC membrane. If your feed water is chlorinated municipal water, a carbon block pre-filter must be installed upstream of the membrane before putting this element in service. Actual production output will vary based on water temperature, feed pressure, and TDS levels.
Key Features:
100 GPD production rate at standard test conditions
96-98% TDS rejection rate
Fits standard 1.75in x 11.74in pressure vessels used in IceCap and most other RO systems
Rated at 50 PSI; produces more purified water per PSI than membranes rated at 60 PSI
NSF/ANSI Standard 58 listed for drinking water applications
Thin film composite (TFC) construction; requires chlorine-free feed water
Ideal For:
Hobbyists replacing a spent or chlorine-damaged membrane in an existing RO or RO/DI system
Reef and freshwater aquarium keepers who need consistent low-TDS source water for top-off or water changes
Anyone upgrading from a lower GPD membrane and wanting more daily production from the same housing
Pro Tips:
Always run a carbon block pre-filter upstream of this membrane. Residual chlorine in municipal water will irreversibly damage the TFC membrane. Do not install this membrane without confirmed chlorine or chloramine removal upstream.
Flush the membrane before putting it in service. Run the RO system to drain for at least 30 minutes after installing a new membrane to flush manufacturing residues before directing output to your DI stage or aquarium.
Lower water temperature reduces production output. TFC membranes produce significantly less water in cold conditions. If your tap water runs cold in winter, expect reduced daily output and plan water change schedules accordingly.
Test TDS before and after the membrane on each water change. A TDS meter across the membrane is the fastest way to detect membrane degradation before it affects your aquarium. A rising post-membrane TDS reading is the signal to replace.
